Dive Sites
Dive Sites
In Tayrona Park we have several important diving areas that we visit frequently: the Isla de la Aguja and Ensenada de Garnet.
On the Island there is a lot of variety of diving points for all levels. Almost always the boat is anchored in a place with calm waters and easy access for entry and exit. From that point the different groups always guided by a PADI professional visit the reef according to the chosen plan. There are places like Calichan where there is a small beach where you can make foot with the scuba team and reach depths around 40 meters with reefs.
There are other places where we can often find currents such as Salidero, or Angel Pass. In both places there is a wide variety of corals of different sizes that are worth visiting. Another excellent place is Morrito Largo, where you can reach greater depths faster because the north side is mostly composed of a large reef wall. Other very interesting places are the Torin or the Choir. These points often have a more or less moderate swell depending on the day.
Already in the Garnet area there is less variety of dive sites. The best known are the Cantil, where we can now find a statue of an angel in the middle of a wall that reaches almost 20 meters deep. Another point is the Fishbowl, where access is very simple and the reef is not very deep, the ideal place to start.
In addition, we have a couple of dive sites not as crowded, such as the Barquitos, where there are several subsidence at different depths, depending on the level of the divers. There is one at 9 meters deep, another at 32 meters and another at 15m. And the Morro de Santa Marta also has a beautiful reef.
